This petition is against the City of Ville Platte, La. we the Citizens of Ville Platte is Petitioning the Mayor and the City Council to not increase the Utilities Rates.
The stories shared by neighbors about the strain of current utility bills reflect a hardship that our community cannot afford to ignore. I am continuing to gather these accounts to present before the council so they understand the real impact of any proposed increases.
March 4, 2019
Reaching this level of support confirms that the concern regarding utility costs is shared across our entire community. It is clear that the city leadership must now acknowledge the weight of these collective sentiments.

I’m on a fixed income and all of my bills are too high right now! If the leaders in our community really cared they would put the people first and not their pockets!
