So many children already complain that they “hate school”, why add more confusion, frustration, and punishment to an already dreaded experience?? As adults, with whom I hope have compassion, it your duty to make the learning experience as fun and enjoyable as possible. Schools are NOT prisons, and we shouldn’t treat our children like this. If you want to change something CHANGE THE CELL PHONE POLICY! No phones in class!!! Before school, at lunch, and after school are the only acceptable times to have a phone at SCHOOL!!!

Keep school an enjoyable place to be. Who are you to punish kids involved in extra curricular activities? School is not a jail center nor a detention hall. Find a way to positively reinforce your new rules instead of harping on the negative and waiting to give out lunch detention.

5-6 minutes is not enough time to go #2. We likely all know this so how do you expect students to do that? Unreasonable expectation

Not trying to shoot this down, because I completely agree with the removal of lunch detention being a previous student. But 5 minutes is enough to get between classes, get water, and go to the bathroom. If not most the teachers around 99.9% of them will let you go to the bathroom or get water and such if not. My problem with the tardiness policy, is the fact that you're punishing students for actually getting a tardy pass and being model students. Maybe after 3 tardies they get a lunch detention I can see that, but the alternative which they promote is to just not show up if you're late. Because not showing up for class doesn't get you a tardy pass, lunch detention, or any punishment. So I think they are just punishing the wrong students
