Our campaign is for the law to be changed to its old form where squatters would have been evicted out of the house they are squatting after various legal proceedings. The government has changed this law so that if a squatter gets caught in a house it has not paid for, the squatter will go to jail for up to 6 months and get a fine.The reason we have decided to start a petition of this subject is because we feel this law change is heavily bias towards the homeowners and has no intention to help squatters most of which are homeless and have nowhere else to go. Most of these squatters have no choice but to squat as it is a survival matter not a choice.
