I am opposed to the proposal to change the zoning of the land behind Charleswood United Church from its current single family (R1-L) zoning to multi-family [RMF-S].

Additionally, the current proposal to build a 60+ unit condo is contrary to the existing scale, density, and character of the existing neighbourhood.

Updates

December 20, 2013

I have been reviewing the feedback regarding the proposed rezoning of 4820 Roblin and appreciate the thoughtful concerns shared by those living in the immediate vicinity. These perspectives are currently being compiled into a formal document to be presented during the upcoming municipal planning review.

December 20, 2013

The response to this proposal highlights a clear consensus regarding the future of our neighbourhood. This momentum demonstrates that residents remain committed to preserving the existing character of the area.

I am opposed to the rezoning of 4820 Roblin. With the growing population of the school, traffic in that area is only going to continue to worsen. Safety of the students becomes a major concern with the additional traffic and congestion that this new development would bring.

I am concerned about the traffic near the Dieppe school and the Dippe/Roblin intersection. I am also concerned about the precedence in changing the type of development in the Charleswood neighbourhood.

Seniors' Housing is badly needed in Charleswood, but there is many better places to build without destroying a residential neighbourhood.

This development is totally out of context with the surrounding area. Our roads in this area cannot handle the current traffic, let alone another possible 120 cars. There is no need for this developement in this area. There are already enough condo/life lease developments in Charleswood to more than service the area. The children of Dieppe School will be put in danger by this development.

This 3 story condo would be 90 % surrounded by R1 houses and a church, I don' t know of anywhere else in Winnipeg where this is comparable. Not to mention the flooding it will cause in my backyard and blocking of my late afternoon sun (say goodbye to my Saskatoon bushes).

Propoosal is far too dense and heigh, massing is way out of scale with surrounding single family homes.
