It will be very very difficult for kids to get up so early and go to school. It has multiple drawbacks and I don't see any benefit.

We go to greenwood elementary right now and my children fight us every morning to wake up for the bus. They are very tired and crabby when they come home and have a hard time concentrating on homework and after school activities.

It would be great if we could find a way for all of our students to start no earlier than 8am. It would be interesting to see how our neighboring districts make this work for similar costs.
Also, high schoolers that are in after school sports can barely fit it all in right now. School until 4pm would push sports later, dinner later, and homework later. Family time would potentially suffer for them with the late start option as well.

Either Status Quo or Hybrid is a better option. Elementary school kids quality of life shouldn't be compromised for the sake of other benefits. in other words, can't rob pete to pay pal. will have lots of challenges with younger kids if the timings are changed and this puts everybody at stress. Hence continue the status quo or Hybrid is the better option, that way you can keep high schoolers and younger kids happy.

It is too cold and not safe for elementary students to stay in bus stops and go to school so early.

I strongly support Status Quo and completely against the one sided logic of Research Aligned scenario. Without properly understanding the impact of early start time for Elementary school children - the school district should NOT be thinking about changing the timings.
Little kids need much more sleep than anyone else in the group.

My 2nd grader bus leave at 8:19AM, we live at Eden Prairie, and my older high schooler leave home around 7:10AM, I think is very reasonable time for both of them.

Small kids should start school later due to cold weather in the winter
