I am against the motion 103 because it ia against my freedom of speech that I have the right for as per the candian charter of rights and freedom

“I am a Canadian,

a free Canadian,

free to speak without fear,

free to worship in my own way,

free to stand for what I think right,

free to oppose what I believe wrong,

or free to choose those

who shall govern my country.

This heritage of freedom

I pledge to uphold

for myself and all mankind.”

— John Diefenbaker

13th Prime Minister of Canada

1957

I have been reading your messages all morning and it is clear that many of you feel the same deep anxiety about what motion 103 risks taking away from us. Losing our ability to speak freely is not a price I am willing to pay for this country. I am currently reaching out to local representatives to ensure they understand that these signatures represent real people who refuse to be silenced.

The momentum behind this movement confirms that so many of you share my refusal to let our fundamental rights be eroded. I started this because I believe in the promise of our country and seeing this level of passion proves we are not alone.

this motion undermines the intention of our constitution, which is secular and mentions no religions or populations in order to keep it secular and fair for all- this motion specifically refers to 1 religion which makes it non secular and gives preference to 1 group by doing so-if this passes we are no longer a secular country, and that needs a referendum to change so it would be an illegal motion at best . It is also redundant as the constitution already blankets us all with all the same protections and rights. One can only conclude its intent is to cause friction and civil unrest , pitting neighbour against neighbour- friend against friend- and smells distinctly seditious in nature - it cannot be allowed to pass as the consequences are obvious- more division we do not need.

My family and I immigrated to Canada in order for us to have a better future and get away from the acts of war and injustice. One thing my parents always stressed to us growing up is the freedom this country would give us and has given us until today. Every citizen of this country should have the right to have an opinion as that's what makes Canadians (all of us) who we are. When that right is taken away from us, yet this privileged is given to others based on their religion, it is not right or just. As a Canadian who believes in freedom and free speech, I vote against motion 103.

No religious group, cult, or political agenda should be given special treatment in a Country like Canada which is a Christian country.
