I am currently a mother of three children who attend Oakley Cross School in West Auckland, County Durham. I am dissatisfied with the current arrangement at the school whereas the children in the Infants section are finishing 35 mins earlier than the Juniors. There is a provision for the children to stay back for the 35 mins but at a cost of £1 a day, but this equates upto £200 a year which in this current economic climate is a large amount. I am in disagreement with having to pay this amount as no other school in the County finishes at these rediculous times. But because of the short amount of time I and I assume other parents are having to wait at the school gates for their elder children to come out. With the winter months approaching this is going to be extremely uncomfortable both for parents and for the younger children. If you agree with me and wish to change this to allow all of the primary children to leave at the same time of 3.20pm (15:20) please sign this petition.
