God loves the diversity that God creates, including the diversity of sexualities found in nature and in humankind.

I stand with all of you. To stand against our LGBTQIA+ brothers and sisters is to stand against Christ.

It has been exactly thirty years since I was a junior at Lee College, and started finally reconciling my homosexuality with what I had been raised to believe. I graduated from Lee in 1992, and for the past thirty years my life has been full to overflowing with love, joy, and a much deeper understanding of what and who my Creator is. I’ve spent the last thirty years using my life and my musical talents to share that message of freedom and joy to the world. I’m happy to sign this petition and I hope and pray that the leaders at Lee will find the courage to dig deeper and communicate with the students who need to know and understand that first and foremost, God is love!

If the admin doesn’t care about any of the rest of this statement, PLEASE look at the suicide stats and think how your rhetoric can have a permanent impact.

Part of understanding change is to challenge yourself to evolve to a place of acceptance, love, and understanding.

As an alumni of Lee University, I can say I had a great experience there. I am saddened to see oppression of LGBTQ+ students. I believe that Jesus would say loving others and accepting and celebrating them just as they are is the most important. Identifying as LGBTQ+ is not a flaw that needs to be fixed or an affliction that needs to be cured. It is normal and okay. As Lin Manuel Miranda put it, love is love is love is love. I implore Lee University to reconsider its policy on LGBTQ+ identity and “behavior”.

I've lived in Cleveland for 50 years and have personally been harmed by christians, school admin., teachers, workplace leaders, and my family. I will support LGBTQ+ fiercly!

As an educational facility, a non-biased, inclusive, respectful environment is beneficial to students' learning and mental health during what can be very stressful years.
