AEP power company is abusing its customers and over charging for its electric services due to a lack of competition. They are raising prices and forcing customers who have struggled to pay their bills $600 deposits even though their accounts were never disconnected. They have been allowed to abuse the people of Southeast Kentucky and many other areas for too long. It is time they answer for their absurd actions.

We simply can't afford these increases. MY husband depends on our electric to survive, due to his oxygen machines and things..but..my children still need to eat! Every month it's going up. Soon a lot of us in this area won't be able to have it at all!
I also don't understand how my bill keeps increasing when I have decreased in using electricity. I have turned ceiling fans off, unplugged anything with a light or clock on it, not used my dryer and I heat and cook with gas. Something isn't right!!
I am divorced and have a fairly good job but still have gotten several disconnect notices because I cannot afford to pay the 500.00 electric bills I get each month. I usually have to chose between food and electricity. I think it's a damn shame too.
I don't understand why we have to pay to build a new power plant for them when they make record profits each year! They should have to build us a new house upgraded to use less power. Why are we having to buy a power plant that they already own I WVa?
We do live in the coalfields and have made many sacrifices for creating electric power. We are in an impoverished region. You are in control and we as customers have no chose so becomes AEP responsibility to think of the customer over profit .
Most definitely overcharging due to no competition. Any politician that supports them in any way should be voted out of office

This is so out of hand, we live on Social Security and it is coming down to eating or paying these high electric bills what are people suppose to do? Some of the charges are just plain unacceptable. Why are the bills so high with such a mild winter?
