This is an important PE class. My daughter took dance one this year with the anticipation of finishing up her PE credit with dance 2. Please don't take this away!

Dance is important! Dance in education is valuable because it enhances various aspects of a student's development, including physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills. It promotes creativity, improves academic performance, and fosters well-rounded individuals. In a time when student success is vital for college and career development, the arts are important form of expression and connection at an unknown unsure time in their lives.

I’m curious why JBHS will continue to hack and slash any arts program that isn’t their precious little choir

Dance is a form of art, students need different forms of creative choices to help in the learning process.

Arts programs helped me get through high school by giving me the opportunity to explore creativity while also challenging me mentally—pushing me to learn and memorize many different things at once. The people I met became like family, and the experience truly changed my life for the better in every possible way. Cutting arts programs doesn’t just affect budgets—it hurts real people. It damages the community and takes away a safe space for those who rely on creative expression to feel seen, supported, and comfortable in their own skin. Please don’t be remembered as the person who took that away from a community like Burbank.

This program is important to the students and to JBHS. It is an art form that has been embraced by the school, the students and the community. It is an important expression of life, and students who participate gain so much much from it. In this community, living in the heart of Show business , there needs to be a program for those that want jobs in the Industry. JBHS provides those opportunities to those that want that and even those that may not but want the outlet to express their emotions. It is needed to have a well rounded education.
