Advocate to keep the JBHS Dance Program and its Amazing instructor, Emily Pierce at JBHS

Insane.

Please reconsider the allocation of Emily Pierce to Burbank High and eliminating the dance program at JBHS. Ms. Pierce is amazing. Not only is she a fantastic teacher, she inspires and the students connect with her. How many teachers at JBHS can the parents know will be a great teacher and inspire the kids to do their best, in her class and others? This program also provides well needed FUN exercise for the students, enjoyable PE. Many students continue even after PE is no longer required. Ms. Pierce is a mainstay at JBHS and I fear this decision could be detrimental to the JBHS students please do not remove Ms. Pierce and please do not eliminate the dance program.

This is a tragedy to lose this program.

The dance program and Miss Pierce have been instrumental for my daughter’s experience at JBHS. It is integral to keep a well trained dance coach at our school. Which prides itself so much for its performing arts. It would be a great disservice to the current and new incoming students to take away this opportunity. When I had my older daughter’s in high school at a different district and they took away the dance, instructor and teacher, it really affected the PE curriculum for years to come, especially impacting under represented females on campus.

Ms. Pierce was the only teacher at JBHS who I felt I could go to when I had a problem. She was my rock and I truly do appreciate her.

Mrs. Pierce is amazing and we need her to stay. She is dedicated and cares so much for her students.

Dance is so important in the Burbank community. Our Burbank kids love the arts and this is so very important to them.

We are known as the best when it comes to dance and many people don’t go to private schools because of our dance program. This will all change

Emily is incredible and has really opened my daughter’s ability to perform at such a higher level. I hope we can save her!!

PLEASE keep mrs. Pierce she is the reason im still dancing and why i have improved so much! shes so comforting and so good as a teacher!

I’m not sure why BUSD continues to take arts away. It also shocks me when they show preference to one school over the other making children pick between friends, location and an elective they love… especially something like dance that is popular.

As a grandparent of a JBHS student I am requesting the extremely important performing arts program and their teacher, Emily Pierce remain a part of JBHS.

Ms. Pierce is an invaluable asset to the community. She is a positive force for JBHS students and is needed.
