My name is Olivia Gombatto and I am advocating for bill A2628 to be passed and made into a law. This bill seeks to improve the medical diagnosis and treatment for individuals with autism spectrum disorder in hospitals and health care facilities. It would cross train existing medical staff and health care providers in the specific needs of patient with ASD through the Department of Health. Furthermore, the program will provide specialized training on ASD and subsequently establish a pilot program to develop on call “autism teams” in hospitals and health care facilities.
Please consider signing, as it would help improve the treatment and increase knowledge of this diagnosis, giving every person with autism the proper care they need.
About time something like this happens. Hospitals can be so overwhelming for people on the spectrum.
