Homeopathy is one of the cornerstones of naturopathic medicine and with the decreased number of hours allotted to homeopathy in the new curriculum, it's clear that we are not getting enough training in this modality. I have spoken with several students in my class (ND3) about whether they feel the new curriculum provides us with enough information to be competent in case taking and repertorization, and the consensus is a resounding "no". We understand that homeopathy might not be everyone's preferred modality and the curriculum should reflect the needs of all students, but since the previous homeopathy electives series was cut, the students that do want to pursue this modality further do not have the resources to do so at our own institution (that prides itself on being a forefront of naturopathic education). Students who choose to pursue homeopathy are obviously free to purchase other courses outside of school (which we do), but I believe that if NUNM wishes to continue to include homeopathy in the curriculum as a naturopathic competency, it should also provide electives within the school to further our education on this topic to supplement the lack of hours in the new curriculum.

Homeopathy is so integral to naturopathy and a deep healing modality that student need to have more exposure to in order to utilize it effectively in clinic.

ND, 2nd year of 5. Homeopathy has been a part of naturopathic medical school for many years! We must bring it back, and offer more homeopathy classes to students who are interested in learning more about this beautiful modality!
