In the storied history of University of Maryland basketball, a number of its greatest players have had the honor of having their their jersey hung in the rafters of the Xfinity Center.
As we've moved forward in the Mark Turgeon era, the program has looked into its past to heal existing wounds, and correct long passed errors. Seeing Ernie Graham's jersey in the rafters is one, seeing the Bias family as honorary captains this year another.
And yet there remains one glaring hole in our history that needs to be filled...Adrian Branch's jersey belongs in the rafters. He led his teams to 3 NCAA Tournaments, was a two time 2nd team All-ACC and Honorable Mention All-American, averaged 16.4 points per game in his career and is Maryland's 5th all time leading scorer.
He was an exemplary player and an even better alumnus. It's time to right a wrong, and put Adrian in the rafters.
