I have a niece, who is dysletic, and her teacher caught this when sh was very young. She was transferred to a special school for this, graduated with honors,She went through grade school, graduated with honors, went to a normal private high school, and again graduated with honors from a normal college. She is now teaching dyslectic children in Ohio....one of her children, who has this same challenge. I will sign this petition as many times as you want. Jennifer got what she needed, and is doing very well, thanks to this special education. These young people need this help at an early age.

this is the right thing to do! Other state (e.g., Oklohoma and Texas) appear to be far ahead off NYS in addressing the Dyslexia issue. We can and must do more. "No child left behind" includes children with Dysllexia

My son is dyslexic, and we have had great difficulty working with his school. One of the reasons is due to the fact that many educators lack knowledge about how dyslexic students learn. If these students are identified early, they can receive the help they need to be and feel successful. We need to teach these students to read how they learn best!

I am a teacher, tutor, speaker and DYSLEXIC. NYS schools can make a difference in the lives of students by recognizing this learning phenomena.
