This Bill is vital to my son's future and to finally get research based help by trained teachers not sub par help that he currently gets that keeps him from his full potential and the need for extra help

My son wasn't identified until second grade and it was because I found testing outside of school. Maybe if his teachers had training he could have been identified earlier and not had to repeat second grade.

Dyslexia is the most common learning disability in the US. However most educational professionals (teachers, administrators, school psychologists, etc) are not familiar with identifying dyslexia, understanding dyslexia or teaching kids with dyslexia. Let's prove to these kids that their education is just as important as anyone else's.

There should be early screening for dyslexia in the NY Public Schools. The parents of children with dyslexia need support. The cost for outside dyslexia help is an enormous burden for these parents.

I have a fourth grader in an Orange School system who is struggling due to his dyslexia. I have told by the principle that they absolutely do not use the term Dyslexia!
