I just received word that the request for a prayer space at the staging area has been approved. This is entirely due to the kindness and resolve of everyone who added their name to this cause. I am truly humbled by how quickly this moved because of you.

Dear Sir or Madam:

On behalf of thousands of dedicated and loyal Muslim Uber partners in the Denver Metro Area, we cordially appeal to your compassion, steadfast leadership, and to your unremitting devotion to diversity and inclusion and we kindly ask you to consider adding an Islamic Prayer room to the TNC Denver International Airport Uber Staging area.

The room is vitally important to Uber partners who are devout followers of the Muslim religion and who consist of most of your employees. We pray five times a day. Thus, Prayer is one of the core tenets of Islam, which requires most Muslims to pray five times a day: before sunrise, mid-day, before sunset, after sunset and at night.

With winter approaching, it is becoming extremely difficult for Muslim Uber Drivers to pray on the freezing pavement under the freezing weather conditions of the DIA Staging Parking lot.

The room doesn’t have to be a constructed structure, but a carpeted mobile structure will adequately suffice. Attached to this letter are signatures from your loyal and dedicated Muslim Uber Partners who are in dire need for your leadership and compassion to act upon this request and provide this accommodation.

Sincerely,

I have been reading the stories you all have shared about trying to pray outside in the freezing cold and it humbles me to see how much we have all been through together. I am currently working on getting these signatures in front of the right people at the airport who can help us make this change. This is happening because you stood up for each other and I am just lucky to be part of such a dedicated group.

RIDICULOUS that they have to pray on the freezing ground. Give them a break already.

Its really cold out there in the winter. Just a small space would help so much.

Uber drivers work so hard they deserve a decent place to pray. DIA is huge, there is definitely room for this.

Please make this happen for us. Being forced to pray on dirty pavement is just not right.

My husband is out there every day and comes home frozen. This is a basic need for humans.
