Buses are vital for the island; dial-a-bus is essential to help the sick and elderly and to stop the number 12, or any bus completely on Sunday's isn't fair to people who rely on them with no access to a car and family visiting them. We will have to get taxis, which no one can afford. The most recent cut to the number of buses and timings of them have caused inconvenience. The plans are not a service to the community and are restricting the lives of the people who need the buses.

There must be a solution to this! Why should these villagers be isolated, they already have such a minimal service. Those that voted Andrew Turner back in should be asking him questions!

We need to keep the number 35 bus this is there only means of transport for people to be able to get out and go places.... Why cut a bus which serves the only route for people who live in This area.... It's really stupid there are lots of places on the island that doesn't have a proper bus route..... Not everyone has a car.....Please don't cut this service which is vital for the young and old..... 2 miles is a long way to walk if your young or old......

This bus service provides the only link at all to Newtown, Porchfield and Marks Corner, twice a week and only direct link from Newbridge to Brighstone, Chale and Chillerton 3 times a week. It deserves more coverage than less.

The information I have received is that tourists using their concessionary passes (Island journeys are paid by the Island council) are mostly to blame.

Why is it that most of the island is more than adequately served, while we are being isolated? I and others rely on the Number 35.

The severing of our already slender link with Newport and the wider bus network would leave Porchfield high and dry.

Soft targets such as these are an essential service and must be maintained. Whilst the route may not be profitable for the operator (Southern Vectis) and do suggest the bus company are looking to increase their margins at the publics expense. It would be very interesting to have sight of the contract our local authority has with the operator.

While I appreciate services should be viable, surely we pay our taxes to support vulnerable people access to outside world vital to all. Very short sighted move. How much will they save?

This rural route must be kept running BEFORE the profits of the Vectis buses are considered.

Please keep the bus. Mobility is freedom! Don't take this away from people who rely on public transport. Please!

Vectis buses should be made to provide a full package; there will always be un-profitable routes, surely that’s part of the service they are contracted for? Their fares are probably the most expensive in England anyway. Is there not a contract that prohibits them from cherry picking.

We need more buses not less, need to get some of these cars off the road and it is always the elderly and young that suffer. This is encouraging people well past the age when they should stop driving to carry on making our roads dangerous. We need all our buses.
