Flying near dropzones is nerve wracking enough without having to worry if my gps is missing half the hazards in the area. Fix this please!

Seriously how is this not a standard thing already? Foreflight should have had this years ago.

Thank you for the input! The problem is there is no legal requirement for this, so the USPA really has no real clout with regard to these GPS companies. The reason a petition is needed is to convince these companies that not only skydivers but pilots alike care and want this to be added to their software. So please help get the word out!!

I believe you should work this out with the USPA. As a large skydiving organisation they xan do more than just a petition and I am sure thst they can do research and find the right people to get this done. After all it is a general safety issue.

Awesome idea! I would hope this petition spreads like wildfire through both the skydiving and GA communities!

AS a skydiver falling from the skies daily I had just assumed that All navigation apps and GPS units included permanent notams and warned pilots flying into these areas. Please consider correcting this situation to make our skies safer for both pilots, passengers and All air sport enthusiasts whether they be skydivers, glider pilots or anyone who has filed a temporary or permanent notam. Thank you
