Add shoulders to River Road to improve Safety for Motorized & Non-Motorized Users

With the Big 4/ East End Bridge Loop, this improvement is needed even more.

I have been cycling along River Road since 1976 and live two minutes off the road in Rivers Edge. Even as a veteran cyclist, riding on this scenic byway can be daunting, given increased traffic flows and occasional driver aggression. I support a safer way to share the road. Jim Moyer Rivers Edge

Great step for bicycling safety! Please have a 25 mph speed limit strictly enforced for everyone's safety, since it's a scenic byway. Thank you!

This is a public safety concert, it's simply a question of when someone will get killed

You also need to have funds to keep it free of trash.

A great cause that will promote safety as well as healthy activities such as walking, jogging and biking.

Desperately needed. Bike riding on River Road as it is now requires a death wish.

This safety project is long overdue, and will benefit motorists, cyclists & pedestrians.

Thank you so much for this effort! It is well known that River Road is one of the most scenic, traveled, and important bike routes in Louisville - especially now with the opening of the East-end bridge!- and yet is very dangerous.

This is a scenic byway, not a highway! Add shoulders and enforce speed limits.

Much needed for the area. The River is one of the greatest assets and should be enjoyed by all. Good transition from commercial/industrial to more suburban scenic.

This shoulder on heavily-used River Rd is critical for the safety of cyclists and to reduce the stress for motorists trying to accommodate them.

I support this measure to add and expand the shoulder to river road. It helps accomplish what we all citizens of Louisville should want - increased ways to get people outside exercising. It should also make the city more attractive to companies looking to relocate here. Please approve this measure.
