We definitely need to address the issue of increased crime in Bloomington. The population has increased, so why has law enforcement, EMS, and fire protection not increased?

We need more layers of police. We need footbeat, bicycle, or motorcycle officers for much more visibility in neighborhoods. We need satellite stations for those officers to work out of. These are proven strategies that have proven to be very effective.

My house was broken into a few months ago. The deputy that came out couldn't get any fingerprints, and that seemed to be the end of it. Perhaps more patrols in the neighborhood would be a better deterrent.
