NO SERVICE STATION & LIQUOR STORE ON ADACHI NURSERY

We have enough gas stations we don't need another one.

There are so many other, better uses for this property than turning it into another 'Service Station and Liquor Store'. There are already two Service Stations with alcohol sales within a couple hundred yards of this site. The City and the People of El Sobrante Do Not Need another business like this in this neighborhood. I wholeheartedly support this petition and implore the City of El Sobrante to explore another, different, use for this property.

Plus, there is de Anza High School and Murphy Elementary School nearby. I oppose another liquor store. It's also bad at night. Brings in crime and drunk drivers.

There are already enough gas stations in this area.

I have lived in same house very near Adachi's site since 1985. Please Do Not allow a gas station to develop there. It used to be a rural area, now feels like it is getting toxic with too many mini marts, and Shell is already so close.

I live right behind Adachi now and don't think we need another gas station adding its toxic fumes to the neighborhood. There are already two plus gas stations within. View from the site.

There is an over concentration of liquor sales within this area and therefore a public hearing should be heard before the Board of Supervisors. Please notify all residents that signed this petition when that occurs.

Too many gas stations & too many alcohol related businesses in El Sobrante!

Please, no gas station or liquor store!

1. A liquor store at the Valley View/Sobrante Avenue Adachi site would violate Section 82.38.604 of the Contra Costa County Zoning Ordinance which states: “ A new alcoholic beverage sales commercial activity is not permitted within four hundred feet of any public or private accredited school (in this case Valley Christian School) or an alcohol or other drug abuse recovery to treatment facility (in this case the meeting place of Alcoholics Anonymous). 2. We need businesses that fulfill the design principles set forth in the Downtown El Sobrante Planned Unit Development P-1 Zoning and Design Guidelines that apply to the Adachi property. These are: - Preserve, enhance and capture El Sobrante’s small, suburban to rural character; - Provide visual continuity along street frontages; - Encourage community interaction and pedestrian activities through design; - Promote non-auto transportation such as walking, bicycling and public transportation; and respect and enhance El Sobrante’s natural environment.

Way to many liquor stores and bars in El Sobrante.. I grew up in El Sobrante... it's not near the town that it used to be.. alcohol is a major contributor to the crime in this town.

El Sobrante does not need another gas station or another liquor store.

We deserve better than another liquor store!

Please save the nursery!

This site is a gem location for the entire El Sobrante Valley. Not only is the gas station/convenience store with alcohol inappropriate, it wastes the potential for a higher profit / community-positive activity. In addition, I have concerns about adding a gas station in a drainage that feeds a subsurface zone that is already polluted by decades of prior gas station/auto repair stations that had leaks and dumped petrochemicals (prior to regulations imposed in the 1970s). Adding one more site with petrochemical leak risk in this area seems just too much to ask of the community.

El Sobrante needs new, life-enhancing amenities that improve community appearance and cohesion!

We should be upgrading our town, not downgrading. We have enough liquor stores and gas stations already. How about an art gallery or a nice restaraunt, maybe a farmers market?
