Make The US Act To Stop Global Warming

Almost everyone has heard about global warming. Many people are trying to do their part to stop global warming. But face it. Residential areas account for only 10% of greenhouse gas emissions. The only way we can stop the certain disaster of global warming is to force the government to act. There is one way that we can do that. We can convince the United Sates Government to ratify to the Kyoto Protocol through this petition. Global Warming has already been proven to be caused by greenhouse gases. And if we don\'t do something now, the catastrophic consequences of global warming will soon take place. Temperatures in Greenland have already raised by 11 degrees Fahrenheit. Glacier national park\'s number of glaciers has dropped from 150 to 27 in the last century. The remaining 27 won\'t last much longer. Sea levels are on the rise, and large ice masses around the world have lost up to 37% of their mass in the last 20 years. Everything is melting and temperatures are raising. And its all due to greenhouse gases. The United States, the only major world power besides Australia that has yet to ratify with the Kyoto Protocol, is one of the largest contributors of greenhouse gases. We use the most energy, and don\'t have anywhere near as many people as other countries. The answer is simple. The government hasn\'t yet ratified with the Kyoto Protocol or made any other pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. So go ahead. If you don\'t want to see hundreds of species die, millions of homes drowned, drastic increase in the intensity of storms, mass death and destruction of our ecosystems, or any of the other sure consequences of Global Warming, then type in your name below to show that you want the United Sates Government to ratify to the Kyoto Protocol. All we need is a name. Because your name could save the world. This petition will be mailed to the White House as soon as we collect a sizable number of signatures. So if you want this petition to succeed write your name down, and then encourage your friends to sign their names down, too. Yours and their signatures could save the world. Thank you for your support.
