According to shacknews, Activision just signed a deal with IGA Worldwide to serve up ads inside future Activision titles on PlayStation 3, such as Guitar Hero 4. A lot of the user community has allready commented on the subject on various forums. Some people think it's okay.. other people will refuse to buy the PS3 versions of the games but MOST people state that it's a good thing if it gives the consumers something back.. but how can they do that By recieving a lot of funding through advertisement they ought to be able to cut the price on their products, meaning cheaper games and/or cheaper downloadable content for the games. I personally would not mind commercial in free downloadable content (songs for GuitarHero etc), but I would mind paying to recieve commercial. Now I have no idea what Activision's future plans are, but by making this petition I hope that they will take into account what the public wants, and I hope we can make a statement. So by signing up on this petition you/we are stating that "commercial is okay if the games get cheaper". Also I hope that all 360' owners out there will buy 360' versions of Activisions games in the future IF the price remains the same for PS3. Yes they will recieve the same salesnumbers, but they will also see how much the PS3 market falls by adding commercial to their products unless it benefits the public.
