ACTION: Thank a worker for area storm clean-up!
The damage that occurred in our community this week due to the impact of storms and tornadoes was immense. Streets were shut down, homes were crushed by trees, and thousands of people lost electricity. Storm damage has been estimated at over 10 million dollars. It was a week that shook our community, but we are extremely fortunate that no one was seriously injured.
The South Central Federation of Labor wants to send our deepest gratitude to all of our emergency responders: police officers, firefighters, electricians, Madison Gas & Electric phone operators, Dane County 911 emergency dispatchers, City of Madison streets, construction trades, state, county, and municipal workers, and any person that lent a helping hand for making this one of the smoothest after-storm clean ups that our community has ever seen.
Please join us in thanking them by signing our
petition! Sign your name and write a comment about how a worker helped make
your life easier this week.
More importantly, share this, along with the hashtag #wethankourworkers, with friends and family on Facebook, twitter, or any other media platform. These workers deserve it!
