Why does it seem that Lake Placid will do anything for tourists but not provide for their own community the things we've been asking for for years. Up until it moved the road to the hospital past the cornerstore was, and still is a horrible mess of potholes. Even with the ER relocated ambulances drive over this road as it's a quick corridor to the new location. However when IronMan came it was no problem for the town to pave the road to for IronMan but they couldn't be bothered to pave the road that EMT's drive daily in an effort to get someone the care they need as quickly as safely as possible. Or maybe the local politicians don't understand how hard it is to administer care in the back of an ambulance when you can barely keep from falling over the patient.

Agreed on most counts. I’ve mentioned the wall in that parking lot to several people, and refuse to park in certain spots. The sidewalks are terrible. There are two notable sinkholes in front of EMS. I do not care about mismatched planters.

As someone who spends 30 days a year there as a visitor, that parking lot is anomalous to the quality in Lake Placid

I couldn't care less about planters, the side walk needs a complete over haul, the pavers are nice but too expensive to replace every year. That wall is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I refuse to park in that lot. Although I could use a new car. If it were to collapse the village would be liable.

I would also add that the interlocking bricks on the sidewalk around mirror lake require attention, as there are some areas where bricks are missing or gaps have developed. This represents a hazard for those walking or running on the sidewalk.

The paver sidewalks are a joke. But are downright dangerous in winter.

The parking lot wall is truly shameful as is the crazy use of road salt on walks and roads around Mirror Lake. The sidewalks? They’ll end up causing a lawsuit soon.

This needs to be fixed now. As well as property marked cross walks, painted and marked. I see people almost get run down all day long when in the crosswalk. Fix the wall!!!
