It’s about time some action is taken, this has been going on for far too long and from my younger days. Has a suggestion they should be a punishment for the seller and the user in order to Rule out/banish the seller and rehabilitate the user.
The user is not a bad person but is an addict that needs help from loved ones or people from the community in order to rehabilitate. I have seen and experienced a lot of people loose wealth, family, dignity, respect, confidence and a whole lot and most of all which is the most precious which is they lives. To the people who have close ones that are users, yes you might feel embarrassed in front of people and hurt from the effects of witnessing someone close being addicted to drugs but you have to be the most strongest because this addiction is a form of a disease and the cure is attention and a lot of love never ignorance and hatred.
People can help one another and if you turn away from a user all you doing is making him/her feel degraded and allowing him/her to suffer the disease.
Help each other and god will help you All.

Very much concerned with the rising number of untimely deaths and the fact that this is affecting our youthful population. The syndicate is making money off these vulnerable group. They need to be stopped NOW! The cartel must be arrested.

How many deaths from Class A drug usage in Malawi have not been reported in the media over the last 15 years?
How many families have been destroyed because of the hold of these drugs?
How easy is it to supply and source these drugs, with NO risk of repercussions?
How many testing centres are there in Malawi?
How many police officers are aware of the problem but are easily paid off to turn a blind eye?
The issue of Class A Drug usage in Malawi is only recently being reported in the media but it has been around for a very long time.
Entitled youth with access to cash feed this trade!
Parents that choose not to believe their children are indulging, feed this trade!
The nation in its entirety needs to take responsibility and not turn a blind eye, unfortunately there isn't a decent support system to make this possible.
How many people know users but don't know how to help them?
How many users wish they weren't users?

Stiffer penalties will dissuade drug trafficking and substance abuse. There will also be fewer cases of mental health problems and government will save and redirect resources to other sectors.
