Acland Heritage Precinct

I the undersigned state that I am in favour of an Acland Heritage Precinct being established at the Jondaryan Woolshed. I urge all parties involved in the decision making process in regard to the above to choose this location. I believe that the two entities have a historical connection and that this connection should continue into the future. I advocate for the precinct to include a number of buildings of historical value, including the Coal Museum, Original School Building, Public Hall and a limited number of other buildings/monuments/items of historical significance to be a part of the above-mentioned precinct. Members of the community have collected a rich collection of Historical documents and artefacts in the past. I believe this collection should be respected and displayed appropriately. Furthermore I believe that the Jondaryan Woolshed is an appropriate location for the collection to be displayed, as it would bring together a large and rich resource depicting the mining and wool industries which have helped shape this part of the Darling Downs. I believe that combining the historical elements of both industries would not only be a fitting decision, respecting the founders of the local area but also benefit the ratepayers of the Toowoomba Regional Council through enhancing an already popular tourism attraction.
