I loved having this style of schedule when I was a student at Chapelle. Not only does this give the girls a more manageable academic load, but it also minimizes stress and anxiety levels during the course of the school day by giving them an opportunity to A) focus on a limited number of subjects, B) take a few minutes to get re-energized during an independent study period, and C) take advantage of creative outlets provided through elective course and intramural/club activities. It's imperative that none of these features are dropped from the curriculum.

the block schedule was the best schedule to have. especially compared to peers in other schools. it allows more time for information to be absorbed in addition to spreading out homework assignments over the week.

having IS, gave me an oppourtunity to get math help from other teachers.

One of the main reasons I chose to attend chapelle was because of the art program , what about the students who aren't so good academically and need electives and sports to have opportunities to succeed in life , college. IS was an outlet and chance for me to get help in my studies. As an alum I'm proud to be a part of the chapelle family, but I also hope for the future of this school to go in the right direction. -Lacey muller Rowell c/o 2008

The block schedule helped prepare me for college because it teaches you how to balance your time between subjects, and is also incredibly helpful in assuring students don't get bored with particular subjects at particular times. As an Alum, I loved it, and would rave about Chapelle because of it. The extracurricular activities taught be skills I still use and remember. My friend, who is also an alum, sews her Mardi Gras costumes every year because of the sewing class she was able to take in high school. I learned valuable cooking skills in my extracurricular class. I.S. was a valuable time to unwind, gather thoughts, and get ahead on your studies. I think removing these things would be detrimental to the progressive programs that make Chapelle stand out.
