SA-ACOFP would like to petition the Family Medicine residency program at OPTI-West/Skagit Regional Health and Dr. Julie Merriam, program director, to consider application for the ACGME Single Accreditation. There are many of us who would like the opportunity to continue our osteopathic education after graduation. Our reasons for encouraging this include mastering the techniques that we have learned over our four years of medical school, applying our osteopathic education to real world patients and improving their quality of life, and maintaining the skills that define us as osteopathic physicians and differentiate us from our allopathic counterparts.
