With the recent drive by shooting death on Dec. 10th, a boiling point has been reached and it is time for the Ace Market's Beer Permit to be suspended by the Metro Beer Board. The Ace Market has been a nuisance business and a trouble spot for the neighborhood for way too long. There have been almost 300 instances of police activity since 2004 at the market with multiple serious violations including: murder, robbery, weapons, shots fired, and fighting. Activities that happen in and around this business are a detriment to the safety of the community. The neighbors of the Melrose community respectfully request that the Metro Beer Board suspend the beer permit for Ace Market. Suspending the beer permit would dry up the market's main source of revenue and force a positive change to the business.
