I love accokeek academy, that is the main reason we moved to the preserve Please let my daugther stay in the school

We want them to go to the school that's down the street

We fully understand that some adjustments to Accokeek Academy boundaries are needed due to the overcrowding situation at the school. However, we strongly urge the Board of Education to change the proposed new boundaries so that the Preserve at Piscataway neighborhood remains assigned to Accokeek Academy.

Please keep the children of the Preserve neighborhood status quo, part of the Accokeek academy. Thank you

One of the main reasons why we moved to the Preserve was because of the proximity of the school. If at all, I believe that we Preserve Resident should have first priority to send our children to Accokeek Academy because it is TRULY our neighborhood school. What sense does it make to send my child across 301 for highschool when we aren't 5 minutes away from the school?

Please keep the children of the Preserve neighborhood part of the Accokeek Academy. The Accokeek Academy is the closest school to them. Thank you!

I moved to preserve with my husband 5 years ago and took into account before moving into this neighborhood the school zones that my children (daughter-3yo and son-17months) would attend. Like all parents, we want the best for our children and we decided to move to this neighborhood for that purpose. I would like the board to re consider this change and allow current preserve residents with children the choice to pick which school zone they would like their child to attend.

I vote against the Preserve Community being rezoned to Fort Washington Forest Elem. and Gwynn Park Middle School. Keep Preserve Community children in Accokeek Academy.

My daughter is a 3rd grader at Accokeek Academy and I am looking forward to my 3 year old starting there in 2 more years. I relocated from another part of Accokeek to the Preserve so that my children could attend Accokeek Academy. It would be unfair to have the children in the Preserve which is located in Accokeek attend a different school outside of Accokeek b

There must be a better way of solving the overcrowding at AA. Using a creek as boundary for rezoning seemed witless.

Let Preserve at Piscataway kids attend Accokeek Academy!

My family moved to the Preserve in 2013. At the time, my three children were not yet school aged, however, schools were one of the most important factors when choosing our location. Accokeek Academy was one of the best elementary schools in the county, which solidified our decision to move to the Preserve. Presently, we have one daughter in first grade and two children who will start school in the next two years. Dealing with the logistics of getting them to and from two separate schools, as well as two separate school calendars is not ideal. Not to mention it just doesn't make sense to send kids from Accokeek to another school while shuttling in kids from farther away.

I don't have any small children attending Accokeek Academy, but will like too see that my neighborhood children will remain at this school.

My oldest daughter is grandfathered in Accokeek Academy but my concern is when my 4 year old son is ready to enter preschool he will not be able to follow his sibling. This is a major concern and a concern for other families and an inconvenience to have to pull my daughter out of Accokeek so that both children can be together.

My family recently purchased a house December of 2015 in The Preserves for one reason the school assigned to the neighborhood Accokeek Academy. We were considering leaving Prince Georges county due to the schools and relocating to Charles County. But when we came across Accokeek Academy we new this would be a great option for our daughter for the 2016-2017 school year. If these changes were to be made this would drive a lot of residents out of the area. There are many people moving there solely for Accokeek Academy.

Coming from the Temple Hills/Fort Washington area schools (J Frank Dent. ) We did not want any more PG County Schools but when we read about Accokeek Academy, this was our choice of school, so we moved here instead of Charles County. This here will cause plenty of problems...I have to kids at Accokeek and a third kid planning to go when older. So this mean unless my son would not be able to attend the same school as his sisters. Other problems...more school busses for three schools...one for Accokeek Academy, one for Fort Washington and one for Gwynn Park middle. Award nights and parents and teacher nights or if one school has a unforeseen issue. Having my kids divide into two schools will be problematic. Someone clearly has not thought things through.

My sons have been attending the school for about the past 5 yrs. Moving to the Preserves was ultimately decided base on the opportunity for my sons to attend what I believe one of the top elementary schools within the area. Based on what I have seen first-hand a very efficient and noteworthy academics program at Accokeek Academy has help me stand behind this. If the new boundary changes are enforced it will ultimately be the deciding factor for me and my family in regards to continuing to reside with Prince George’s County. I have two other small children who will be attending school in the next few years and this change will affect my household tremendously. Unfortunately people make decision which may look good on paper but in reality our not the best decision for the people or citizens as a whole. The fact that the Accokeek community is growing vastly we (The Preserves Community) were advised that the updated construction of the school was based part on the increase of residents within the community and the Piscataway Corridor. But yet people who live even further then the Preserve residents will still be in the boundary areas for the school. But to see that we will not be able to take part in this above mentioned improvements is a great disappointment as a whole. These decisions made by the school board will ultimately cause families to leave the area for a better quality of life and schooling. Hope this petition can be passed on to more families who resided in the Piscataway Preserves community allowing them to help have their voices heard.
