Acceleration is a program that my principal, Candis N. Jones, created to potentially help students who are behind. She had good intentions but a lot of students do not like to be in class for two hours each day. granite the extra time changes to a different period each day but I feel and other students also feel that it's too long to be in class. I tried speaking with my principal about this cause, and how it concerns me and my peers but I was shut down. if she wants to gain more student to this school then she should take into consideration what the students want. Mrs. Jones is a fairly new principal. she made a lot of unnecessary changes. like I said she has good intentions but the student don't like what is going on. instead of acceleration we could have an extra five minutes added to each class Monday thru Thursday's then Friday we can go to our PRIDE time/Homeroom. I am writing this petition to get rid of acceleration. it's either add extra mins to each class for four days, or we can go back to our regular schedule.
