We, the undersign................ do hereby petition the enforcement of lecture passes at Mount Kenya University, Nairobi Campus. The imposition of lecture passes not only undermines the quality of one's academic progress, but also inconveniences other operations within the campus building. Essentially, it bars students from interacting with other students from different schools for instance, only Law students can access the Law school building and Social Sciences students can only access their own school building.

Since the introduction of lecture passes, the academic performance has waned and continues to deteriorate with many people attending even less classes and thus not fulfilling their course work.

We consider lecture passes policy an outright, extortive and counterproductive way, in light to academic welfare of the students and we would want it abolished. In its place, we insist the Management to implement a more humane, inclusive and mutually beneficial business model.
