It is nota world class service. It is a tax on ordinary people. It does not deliver anything that can be said to be better than itv, channel 5 or any of the other broadcasters. The only people who truly support the status quo are either channel 4, another state funded quango or the middle and upper middle classes who see it as a cash cow for them and their children.

I see no point in paying for something that clearly has an inherent, inappropriate bias towards the United States - as well as a bias against mainland Europe, the Far East and Oceania. The BBC is an insular, xenophobic, isolationist institution that won't adapt to change. Apart from its very good natural history films - (which could be paid for separately) it's time the BBC was scrapped. Every biased BBC news story should have been given a disclaimer at the beginning stating: 'This report is for entertainment purposes only'.

quite simple this gov. is supposed to believe in a free market economy other channels manage fine make them stand on their own two feet and stop fleecing us to over pay their staff and so called stars.

Please note that the BBC is now a commissioning publishing house with no in house production staff craft staff or training but still has over 29 thousand so called staff which is quite appalling when apart from say EastEnders under the guise of BBC studios it contracted out everything else nearly 20 years ago with the main exception of news but no one seems to have taken this on board.
Why not call it the POLL Tax Mark 3?
