The Lords have no understanding of normal people and cost tax payers a fortune that could be better spent elsewhere. The Lords should be replaced with a publicly elected oversight committee. It would be more democratic and cost far less as well as be answerable to the electorate.

The House of Lords should be completely abolished or at best be restricted to no more than about 50 elected peers. It is disgusting that people can be placed in the House of Lords at the whim of people in power. My preferred preference is to have no House of Lords at all
