Minister Simon Coveney

We the undersigned wish to express our anger and opposition to the proposed changes to bin charges.

We want the new charges abolished,we also want the waiver reintroduced for families with special need family members, those on the OAP pensions, and those on low incomes.

The people of this country are hard pushed enough and this is one step too far.

I have been hearing from so many of you who are already struggling to keep up with basic costs and this new burden feels like a breaking point. My own family knows exactly what it feels like to choose between necessities and I am continuing to push these stories directly to the department to ensure they cannot ignore the human cost of these changes.

My own budget is stretched thin and these bin charges feel like a direct hit to households already struggling to stay afloat. We need to reach five hundred signatures to ensure our protest cannot be ignored by the minister. Please send this link to your neighbors so we can cross that threshold today.

As an active campaigner in the anti bin charge fight 15 over years ago we knew that this would be the outcome! Our refuse collection needs to go back to the councils and be free of charge, this is the only option now to prevent the greed of the cartel causing more dumping of rubbish and damage to the environment!

My standing charge has gone from 5 Euro a month to 12.50 that's 150 Euro a year instead of 60 and that's before I even put a bin out. I'm on disability there is no way I can afford this increase. People just can't afford anymore

I already pay €310 a year and when your only income is State pension that is a lot of money! Bring back the waiver for Senior Citizens, we paid all our taxes years ago and shouldn't have to pay more now that we are trying to live on less than the minimum wage!

Not feasable for peole that cannot reduce their waste due to things suchs as medical and personal care products that they have to use, which weigh a lot, ans so, would add hugely to a cost

My costs will increase by 80%. How can this big of an increase be justified? Don't forget charges have gone up d last 3 years running and that's before d 80% increase is applied to my account. I've had no salary increase in 5 years. So give us a break on d charges.
