This season the SAFA introduced a Law/Rule which was passed down from FIFA through the professional and semi-professional games which states that any ankle tape must match the colour of the socks which the team are wearing. Further to this, last season, a similar Law/Rule was passed which meant that Under Armours both Short Sleeve and Long Sleeve must also reflect the colour of the amateur teams top. Whilst I can see the reasoning behind such rules, at Amateur level it is more of a financial burden than perhaps some realise. Clubs will have 2/3 strips on average with completely different colours. Players will be having to fork out in excess of £100 for 3 under armours, plus whatever else extra for various coloured tape over the season. Amateur footballers are already paying for the pleasure of playing the game. Park costs, association costs, insurances. This already comes out of our own pockets. If you believe it is one step too far, please sign this and make everyone in your team/league aware of it. I am not entirely sure what / if any impact it will have but we can only try. Thanks,
