Imposing LTCG tax alongwith STT is not rationale at all. Traders and Investors are paying numerous taxes inspite of losses also in stock mkts. Capital market is meant to generate resources for economic growth, so it is not advisable to tax them so hard. Create win-win situation for all, that would really lead to creation of predictable and sustainable wealth. To add exchanges are also taking additional transaction charges (eg X group in BSE), so much of cruelty to traders or investors is not acceptable. Rethinking is required to eliminate STT or LTCG tax and excess transaction charges for benefit of investing community as a whole is must.
