**We, the undersigned residents and business owners of Comal County, hereby petition for the abolishment and removal of the business personal property tax. We believe that eliminating this tax will foster economic growth, support local small businesses, and ultimately benefit our community.

Reasons for Abolishment

1. Economic Growth: The business personal property tax places a financial burden on local businesses, limiting their ability to invest in growth, hire employees, and contribute to the local economy. Eliminating this tax would encourage business expansion and attract new enterprises to our community.

2. Job Creation: By relieving businesses of this tax, we can create a more favorable environment for job creation and reinvestment into expansion and hiring. More businesses mean more job growth and more opportunities for residents, which will lead to a stronger local economy.

3. Competitive Advantage: Surrounding counties and regions often have different tax structures. Abolishing the business personal property tax would enhance our competitive position, making Comal County more attractive to prospective businesses and investors.

4. Simplification of Compliance: The elimination of this tax would reduce the administrative burden on both businesses and the county, allowing for more efficient use of resources. Many small businesses are solely owned and operated and relieving this cost and helping improve margins will only lead to more growth

5. Community Support: The funds currently generated from this tax could be offset by other economic strategies or budget reallocations that do not negatively impact essential services or our small businesses community

We request that the Comal County Commissioners and elected officials take immediate action to abolish the business personal property tax, recognizing its negative impact on local businesses and the overall economy.
