Stop Removing Rankin/Bass Specials From 25 Days Of Christmas
The First Christmas: The Story Of The First Christmas Snow is a Rankin/Bass Christmas special from the 1970s. It's about a shepherd boy named Lucas who is struck by lightning, becomes blind, and is rescued by a bunch of nuns, who give him a place to stay at the abbey, where he makes many friends and soon encounters a Christmas miracle. Unfortunately, ABC Family will not be airing this heartwarming special for their 25 Days Of Christmas 2011 line-up. The money-hungry network also will be scrapping The Life And Adventures Of Santa Claus from their line-up. Have you noticed that the other Rankin/Bass specials are airing less and less, too? It's not a stretch to say that unless we speak our minds and let them know our opinion, these classic movies will most likely not be on the schedule at all. Even if you didn't love The First Christmas or Life And Adventures Of Santa Claus, remember this, companies like ABC Family will stop at nothing for money, and next year, it could be Rudolph or The Year Without A Santa Claus that gets scrapped. Who knows? Let's let ABC Family know that we want QUALITY entertainment this December, not their un-festive Harry Potter or Pixar line-ups that have nothing to do with the holiday season.
