I have been meeting with department heads to discuss why this curriculum is long overdue for our students. The conversations are difficult but necessary to ensure that our history is represented in the classroom.

Seeing this level of enthusiasm reminds me why I started this fight in the first place. My own search for these classes on our campus felt like hitting a wall until I saw how many of you feel the exact same way. This momentum proves that our history belongs at this school.

finally some movement on this. the lack of representation in our course offerings is super disappointing.
Why is this not a thing yet??? literally every other university has this program.
Essential for a well rounded education. My classes feel like they are missing such a huge part of the american story.
Long overdue. AU needs to catch up with the times and provide a real curriculum for black history.
It is crazy that we are in 2016 and still fighting for this. Do better AU.
