Honorable President of Pakistan Mr Asif Ali Zardari, We, the undersigned, along with the other groups mentioned below would like you to please grant clemency To Ms Aasia Bibi currently in Police custody in Punjab. Sir we and other Pakistani Americans feel very strongly feel that a great injustice is being done to this poor lady. The blasphemy law under which she has been detained has definitely been misapplied in this case. Our understanding of this case is that this case was initiated by a group of villagers, more for personal vendetta then any true insult to Prophet Mohammed( PBUH). In addition she belongs to a minority religious group whose rights are ensured under Pakistan's constitution and addressed and reiterated on several occasions by the founder of our nation Quaid e Azam Mohd Ali Jinnah. Sir it will take great courage by a great leader to immediately stop this injustice. We feel strongly that you are such a great leader. We urge you to pardon her, immediately release her and allow her to seek humanitarian asylum in a neutral country where she will be safe and can live in dignity with her family. Thank you, Women Physicians of APPNA(WAPPNA) PAKPAC Association for Justice and Democracy in Pakistan

Human rights matter. Hoping she gets out safely and finds a way to be with her family again.

This is just pure cruelty. Let her go back to her kids, she has suffered enough already.

Ridiculous case. Everyone can see it was just an argument between neighbors. Free her.

Total injustice. Laws should be for protection not for personal vendettas. Please do the right thing and grant her clemency now.
