Our annual American Association of Orthodontics (AAO) dues are constantly increasing and are currently higher than those of any other dental specialty.

The AAO has a current annual membership fee of $1658 which includes a mandatory constituent fee of $165 and a Consumer awareness assessment of $700!!!

Although they say that they spend alot of money campaigning consumers, we have not ever seen any TV, social media, paper etc advertising. Furthermore, it is not acceptable to mandate whether one should be a member of their constituent association; this should be optional.

It is rather unfair to coerce members into enrolling in their constituency inorder to be able to qualify for membership into the AAO.

Dues of other dental specialty assosciations:

Annual dues for American Association of Pediatric dentistry members: $599

Anuual dues for American Association of Endodontics members:$665

Anuual dues for American Association of Periodontics members: $890

Annual dues for American Association of Oral Surgery members: $1050

Please join us in bringing some attention to this and asking the AAO to revisit their fee guide by signing onto this petition.
