WC aren't waiting until 1000, it's just the goal that was set when I created the petition. They've told me it's already under review, but I thought this might give it a proper push, as nothing has been done since those traffic lights were installed. As you said, the area is a death trap.

Why wait until the petition reaches 1,000, Wiltshire Council? This is one of the most dangerous sections of road in the county and needs attention asap. It has got worse over recent years as frustrated drivers who have approached from the conjested Chippenham side use it as an opportunity to overtake dangerously. The same can be said from the Melksham side, where some impatient drivers see it as an opportunity to get ahead of those they had no choice to sit behind as a result of the new layout at the Countrywide roundabout. This, as well as the lane changes at McDonalds, and the slow speed limits at Beanacre, this is their first opportunity to overtake in a number of miles. But it shouldn't be.

Yeah sooner the better , scary sometimes the risks some drivers take and putting other drivers in danger really .

Drive on this road every day and I have seen many drivers dangerously overtaking and cutting people up. Something needs to be done.

This has always caused problems in fact had a car pull in front of us last thursday good job I had my witts about me and braked.

This is long over due. Yet agai last week I was nearly involved in an accident where people speed down the right hand lane to gain one space in front .

I have been in a number of near misses on this spot when I travelled daily to Chippenham from Melksham. Some drivers seem to be prepared to risk all toget one car ahead - just because they can.

Too many deaths and too many near misses. Needs to be single laned unless turning right where light island stops idiots overtaking and racing
