These road layouts really need to change! If that is how simple it is to prevent these accidents surely it's a no brainer.

Working for the air ambulance I feel quite strongly about this one. It's one of the many dangerous roads in our county, let's help to try and prevent these tragedies...

Too many people behave dangerously there, trying to block or aggressively overtake. Poor design.

I drive this route regularly. It's not rocket science to recognise that the layout needs to be changed. Lives are too precious to lose over a small amount of money that it could cost to change this layout.

I have driven this dangerous stretch of road many, many times over the years and this junction, in particular, always fills me with dread. As others have said, people DO race at the traffic lights and people who do not know the road well think they have a dual carriageway ahead when there isn't one so they get into trouble as they need to pull in at high speed with no space!. It's always been asking for trouble. So sorry there has been yet another death. This needs sorting out without further delay.

This seriously needs to be looked at before someone else loses their life.

Great idea, was only saying this needed doing the other day. Just needs Wiltshire council to find some white paint, they don't seem to like road markings!

Having lived next to this junction for over 40 years, my fear is it will happen when there are children in the middle refuge while crossing this road. The last time the barriers were demolished it took the Highway Authority 5 months to replace them. The traffic must be slowed down and the road put back to one lane through or ideally a roundabout. This has been discussed by the Highway Authority but dismissed as "too expensive" and chose the cheaper option of traffic lights. What price for a life?

This is a dangerous junction where visibility is reduced by railings and the phasing of the traffic lights has been wrong for a number of years
Awful markings dangerous
