I have seen a near accident on this piece of road twice - and I dont even use it that often.

Something needs to be done asap on this road before more lives are lost and families devastated - it is lethal, i have had a few close calls there, something needs to be done - enough is enough .

Being a regular user of this stretch of road and having lost someone I know on it (some time ago)... and watched the fatalities increase over time I'd say it's about time someone took a good look at this and came up with a safer solution. The merging of 2 lanes (in both directions) just isn't working how it was designed. Idiot drivers use this an opportunity to blast past as many cars as possible when there are no real gaps for them to slot back in or other drivers are not willing to let them in. Better off making left lane on both sides for turning only or make it dual carriage way all the way to Chippenham!!!

I use this road daily & although luckily I've never been involved in an accident there has been many times it's been close.
I do think the double lanes at the traffic lights are a good idea to be able to get passed slow lorries or whatever as the lights turn green but think there is certainly room for much needed improvement at this section in both directions.

With so many accidents at this black spot it is obvious that something needs to be done urgently. Something as simple as changing the road markings would make a huge difference.

Sort it out! Shouldnt take a petition to sort out something that is going to reduce the risk of more innocent lives being cut short!!!!!
