Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

Don't let this go on

Bypass which will lose a lovely village community. Why oh why...England's green and pleasant lands are becoming filled with Urban sprawl and clutter. Stop this now and leave some villages for future generations.

There is no need for another bypass! Protect England's countryside!

Sensible solutions for critical problems. The new yellow route fails at every level.

Preserve what's left of our countryside

Having recently been on this stretch of road it appears that a little improvement to the current roads would solve the problems without destroying the unique countryside

Save money, save the environment, adopt the purple route.

So much of the land south of the current A27 is built up. Binstead is one of the few surviving rural communities left. Lets preserve it for the future, not destroy it. There is another option which avoids Binstead and looks like it would be much cheaper, using much more of the existing infrastructure. Don't waste public money.

There are NO advantages of the Binstead option over any other route; one suspects that it is only retained as an (unacceptable) alternative to the pink/blue route. In the interest of democracy both the Red and Purple routes should be revived as viable alternatives.

Look at the spectacular view from Arundel to the coastl.it would be destroyed by a bridge.Binstead and the woods are lovely.plenty of room for the road to follow existing route splitting at station. Cover new road in a surface tunnel topped with grass. We lived in Arundel Mount Pleasant. The view from Arundel to the coast should be cherished by us all.

This is a ridiculous option which would destroy Binsted wood, a popular and important area for flora and fauna.

Concerned for the precious Arundel countryside and local environment. Find a less damaging way to manage traffic in the area!

I grew up in binsted and my father was head cowman there for many year's, even though I now live in Slindon I always go back to binsted for many walks. Many woodlands are now managed but binsted is left alone and untouched please keep it this way so my grand children can see a natural woodland,untouched and unmanaged!

As with the Chichester proposals, the Highways England proposals for Arundel demonstrate little concern for local residents and their property, the environmental impact on areas of outstanding natural beauty, and the actual benefit to the communities affected. I hope that there is wide support for this petition.

Take a route of minumum destruction to alleviate the worst 'pinch points' and avoid an 'expressway' ambition that will only cause the 'pinch points' to move.

I am familiar with the debate about a bypass as I live at Burpham. I am not opposed in principle to a bypass; however, details do matter sometimes and this is a case in point.

Destroying unspoilt countryside for more roads is madness. Pursue an on-line option.

Please do not damage Binsted, it is an important part of our countryside.

An expressway is unnecessary and too expensive. Let's get on with a short route with the avoidance of roundabouts wherever possible.
