Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

This road would impact the whole village and cut right to the end of our and many other gardens and through a new housing estate that has just been built right next to us also. The pollution would be all in our gardens and houses and much wildlife that already exists on the golf course will no longer exist. The noise is already not good on the Yapton road let alone at the end of the gardens. This is also the most expensive and invasive route. Please NO to this GREY ROUTE.

Way too expensive, way too much negative impact on multiple areas. You will be destroying peoples homes! Not to mention the damage to nature. In this current climate I can think of better ways to spend that kind of money. With more people working from home, Is this even still needed??

I support the Arundel Alternative. Why spend £450 million pounds on a bypass no one in the area wants to save five to eleven minutes. Instead of ignoring the people this directly affects how about listen and save money?!

Just do it. It’s common sense and you know it, a quick temporary fix, or beauty and heritage forever, it’s a no brainer

Less cars would mean less roads. So use local transport instead.

We have lost enough to roadbuilding already it is time to stop and change our expected journey times by road.

All they need to do is take away the pinch points at Crossbush and the station, a 40mph Road is all it needs.

Too much of Britains countryside has been carved up and destroyed and is increasingly being being nibbled away. It has to stop now, before more is lost. WE are part of nature, we need nature for our survival, if we continue to destroy it, it will destroy us. Please respect it.

Please ssave Arundel's countryside. It would be criminal to devastate this amazinng area of natural beauty and wildlife.

We petition the Secretary of State for Transport, the South Downs National Park Authority, Highways England, Andrew Griffith MP, West Sussex County Council, Arun District Council, Arundel Town Council and Walberton Parish Council, to: REJECT routes for the Arundel bypass which sever the Arun valley watermeadows, Tortington and Binsted and Walberton villages, our beautiful countryside and rural heritage. These big new roads will cause local species extinctions, wreck local rural communities, and make climate change worse. RECOMMEND that another option, less damaging to countryside and villages, should be preferred by the Department for Transport: the Arundel Alternative, a short, wide-single carriageway bypass on the mainly online alignment of Cyan or Beige - but not high-speed dual. The Arundel Alternative provides all we need to keep traffic sufficiently moving - and it doesn't cost the earth. Reasons: The Arundel Alternative is affordable and supported by the environmental organizations I care about future generations, species loss and climate change I care about the countryside and rural communities. The historic village of Binsted is set in wooded countryside in the parish of Walberton, West Sussex, and Tortington is also a historic wooded estate landscape. Partly within the National Park, these areas are a haven for wildlife, with an active community and rural businesses. Many visitors value the area for quiet recreation.

I oppose the destruction of countryside, ancient woodland, farm land, wildlife, sites of ancient and protected buildings, rural community life, peace, air quality and natural beauty. I oppose a new highway and the destruction this would cause. I oppose Arundel Council's views and objectives and disregard for the public's wishes. I oppose the government's decision for the same reasons. I grew up in this area and it is not 'up for sale' for destruction. I represent many voices.

Please stop ruining our countryside and care about species loss and climate change.
