Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

A completely unnecessary waste of money. The Arundel Alternative will be quite sufficient to improve traffic flow, and the beautiful countryside and villages would not be destroyed or disrupted. The Grey route is NOT the answer as it will only increase congestion at Worthing, Fontwell and Chichester.

Proposals completely unjustified.

I strongly support this petition for all the reasons given by the campaign. The grey route would be devastating to the local environment, would bring limited or no tangible benefit to the many people (including myself) who drive between Worthing and Chichester, and is an extremely poor use of taxpayers' hard-earned money.

This is a disgrace, Highways for England should be ashamed, it’s going to ruin our countryside, inhabitants of wildlife and people having to vacate their homes which they have lived in for years.

The government’s build build build policy is destroying the countryside and the environment. What’s the use of economic growth if there’s no one left?

This bypass is completely unnecessary. The grey route will destroy existing infrastructure especially around Walberton forcing existing residents to leave their homes. I have been a resident using the existing A27 route for over 30 years and other than a short wait time a Cross Bush now and again for the traffic lights to change the existing route is rarely congested. Why waste public funds accommodating this monstrosity?

We must save this beautiful countryside, that the local wildlife (& humans!) depends on! It is also a case of mental health and wellbeing for residents, which, along with walking & cycling, etc. (essential exercise), will be affected by a busy major road ploughing through the countryside (walking/cycling routes). This plan is an environmental disaster, just for a slightly shorter car journey!

The grey route ruins people’s lives, is the most damaging of all the options and the most expensive. The ARUNDEL Alternative is far preferable

Why choose a route that no one wants and that will destroy wildlife? Doesn't make any sense.

we need to protect our green spaces, and confront the biodiversity and climate emergencies. The Grey Route is an appalling proposal which will add to these problems

I strongly object to the GREY ROUTE! It's obscene to destroy the villages of Walberton and Binsted with a a bypass that is so over budget and under planned by Highways England and Arun DC.

REJECT GREY ROUTE

There is no case for this proposed motorway especially as covid will reduce commuting longer term as more WFH becomes normal . Alternatives are the alternative single carriageway or road pricing to better allocate demand

No body wants this so why is it happening?

There are literally no benefits to this route.

There's far too much Sussex Countryside being lost to massive housing projects and building. We are supposed to be looking after our natural environment and conversing wildlife, not destroying it.

The Grey Route is without any merit and will destroy the unique quality of the local villages and surrounding countryside. It is simply a vanity project for Highways England.

I have loved walking in this beautiful ancient woodland since childhood (now 75). Also - aren't we supposed to be protecting our trees and natural areas for the sake of the planet?
